These are great for literacy centers!
**This set is a little different than my previous months. Since it is the “End of the Year” set, there are more “fun” end of the year projects. There are still educational based centers, however, they are not as focused on academics as the rest. Students will enjoy the activities and have fun reflecting on the past year!**

Literacy Centers

These are great for literacy centers!
**This set is a little different than my previous months. Since it is the “End of the Year” set, there are more “fun” end of the year projects. There are still educational based centers, however, they are not as focused on academics as the rest. Students will enjoy the activities and have fun reflecting on the past year!**

Included are Language Arts centers for the entire month of May!
There are 64 centers total with instructions on how to implement them into your classroom. Each center comes with a task card and a corresponding worksheet (with the exception of the “teacher directed center”. I leave that task card blank, because as the classroom teacher, you will know what to teach your small groups best. The technology center sometimes does not require a worksheet as well).
Center themes and skills include:

Writing (narrative, informative, descriptive, opinion/persuasive prompts)

Spelling (various games and worksheets to practice weekly spelling words)

Vocabulary (various games and worksheets to practice weekly vocabulary words)

Technology (these are optional centers depending on the available technology in your classroom. Most centers require at least an iPod or a computer).

Reflections/Saying Goodbye: Centers for students to reflect and say goodbye to the year.

Friendship: Centers for students to connect with their classmates one last time.

Memory Book: Students will finish 2 memory book pages a week. Then at the end of the month, all the pages can be stapled together as a keepsake for the year!

Teacher-Directed Time (A center time for you to meet with your small reading group)

There are 64 tasks cards, corresponding worksheets for each center, 8 pocket chart center cards, pocket chart cards labeling classroom groups, and card labels to place around the room saying where each center is located.

*Print, copy, laminate, and you are ready to go with Language Arts Centers for the WHOLE month of May!

It’s been awhile, so I thought I’d introduce m It’s been awhile, so I thought I’d introduce myself! My name is Teresa Kwant and I create teaching resources for educators. Some facts about me: I don’t ever actually create products while sitting on the edge of my bed (or on any bed for that matter 😂), and up until 2 weeks ago I didn’t even own a laptop. That’s right, for 8 years I’ve only ever used a desktop. And, the laptop I purchased a couple weeks ago isn’t a Mac (the one in the photo is borrowed 🙈). So, now that the truth is out, and we can all agree working on the edge of any bed is unrealistic and most likely uncomfortable, here are some actual fun facts about me:
1️⃣: I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Utah.
2️⃣: I taught 6th grade in an elementary school for 5 years.
3️⃣: I have a technology endorsement for education.
4️⃣: Ice cream is both an obsession and passion of mine.
5️⃣: Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, but sometimes gets put on the back burner because #life.
6️⃣: I’m a lefty.
7️⃣: British television shows are my favorite. Some particular good ones include Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey, Poldark, and The Crown.
8️⃣: From my husband—“You love a good party, and hosting them as well.” I cannot wait for Covid to end so I can get back to this one! What are some fun facts about you? I’d love to hear! Share them in the comments below.
I need to remind myself of this! Don’t get stuck I need to remind myself of this! Don’t get stuck dwelling on past mistakes, or question things you could have done differently. Continue to improve each day. We all make mistakes. We need to learn to love ourselves, and others, through the good and bad. We’ve got this! #teacherquotes #teacherinspiration #teacherquote #teachersofinstagram

I’m joining the #thankateacherchallenge with @te I’m joining the #thankateacherchallenge with @teacherspayteachers. This pandemic has not been easy on any of us, including the kids. My son’s 2nd grade class has been reading Flat Stanley. Yesterday, he received a flat teacher in the mail of his teacher! He now gets to take her around and do activities with her and write about it. So, we went on a bike ride with his flat teacher, and he even made her a helmet to stay safe 🚲. My son has had the best year with his teacher, and it was so sad when his time was unexpectedly cut short in the classroom. He told me he “feels gloomy and misses his teacher and school,” so this was just the boost he needed! I’m so grateful for a creative and dedicated educator who continues to be involved in her students lives, even through this challenging time. Teachers all over the world are coming up with innovative ways to stay connected with their students. @kirstenskaboodle @wifeteachermommy what teacher (is it even possible to narrow it to ONLY one?!) do you want to thank today?
