Experience:

I taught 6th grade for 5 years in an elementary school, and I loved every minute of it! My dream my entire life was to be a teacher. I cannot think of a time I ever wanted to be anything else. While going to school to be a teacher, I also worked as an assistant at a private school near my college. I now have the opportunity to be a full-time resource creator. Along with this, I also enjoy teaching other educators how to start and run their own TPT businesses. As an elementary school teacher, I felt like I taught “Everything,” but my favorite subjects to teach were math and writing. This has transferred over to resource creation as well.

Teaching Style:

My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that each child is a unique individual needing a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere to grow. As an educator, it was my desire to help students meet their fullest potential by providing an environment that was safe, supported risk-taking, and invited the sharing of ideas. For me, teaching was about making learning engaging and relevant to students’ lives; it was about patience, inclusion, and the pursuit of every student’s success. As an elementary teacher, I strived to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day. I believed that flexibility and a quick smile could go a long way in creating a classroom atmosphere where all students could thrive. While teaching, I was committed to being a teacher who ensured that learning was productive yet fun, and that all students felt valued, motivated, and in a place where they wanted to attend and learn. My resource creation often centers around gamification. Expanding on the notion that learning can be both fun and educational. Games are one way to get kids involved and comfortable with their classmates.
