These end of the year writing projects are a great way to wrap up your writing units for the end of the school year. They are perfect for distance learning, and can be done on Google Slides. I have also provided a black and white version too, so you can print it out if needed.
There are three different writing projects, each one covering a different writing standard in the Common Core.
1. Informative Writing: All About 3rd (4th, or 5th) Grade. Students will write a newspaper article about their year in school. You can save the final projects for your new students to read next year.
2. Narrative Writing: Teacher Swap. Students will write a fun narrative story about switching spots with the teacher for the day. These stories would be fun for students to share in class or on an online group meeting.
3. Opinion Writing: The Best Summer Destination. Students will write about the best place to visit during the summer. It might be a vacation spot, or it may be somewhere close to home they love to go to. They will then design a poster promoting this location for other students to visit.
Each writing project comes with a writing prompt, graphic organizer, rough draft template, and final project template.
