Each passage is based on the “National Day.” For instance, There is Video Game Day on September 12th, or National Nachos Day on November 6th. There is even a National Zipper Day on April 29th!
Each day students will learn a little bit about each topic as they read the passage, and then answer the questions on their page. Each passage is a 1/2 sheet so you can print two passages per page. To go along with each passage, there are also Word of the Day worksheets provided. Each word goes along with the daily topic. Students are to define the word, illustrate it, write its part of speech, and use it in a sentence. Your student’s vocabulary will quickly expand with this fun, daily activity.
Included in the product are journal cards as well. Each journal prompt card continues with the daily National Day theme. Students can write in their writing journal (provided) about the topic, after reading about the topic in their passage! Students are sure to be engaged as they read, write and learn about each National Day.
